Wilber Menendez Sanchez, Fred Bonner, Louise Delisle, and Ingrid Waldron have formed Rural Water Watch Association, a new NGO that will build on ENRICH’s water monitoring projects in Lincolnville and Shelburne.
The NGO will help rural communities better understand their drinking water quality and associated health issues, and build their capacity to manage their drinking water resources.
Rural Water Watch will also provide funding opportunities for water quality testing and improvement, if necessary, help communities build a community-based drinking water monitoring network, and help build capacity in these communities to undertake water sampling, become knowledgeable about analytical testing and to identify potential contaminants that could affect water quality.
Additional board members will be recruited in the coming months.
